Two of my longstanding favorite things are music and data. At the intersection of these interests is a personal concert log. I started tracking data from every concert I attended in August 2005 after my first concert–The Mars Volta opening for System of a Down. I was a junior in high school at the time. While my taste in music has changed over the years, I’ve always kept the practice of tracking data after every show. The concert log now contains over 120 concerts, spanning more than 15 years. continue reading

Interface is a chrome extension, productivity tool, and home page for the 'new tab' screen. I created this tool to help efficiently navigate the internet. The extension replaces the new tab window with a new page which displays the time and serves as a launching point for internet activity. Keyboards keys can be programmed to transport you to a bookmarked website with a single keystroke. There are 62 programmable hotkeys available. Interface offers a customizable search engine function that can quickly search six different websites interchangeably. continue reading

Hot Ones is an interview show that presents a twist on the standard talk show format. Guests consume ten wings that become progressively hotter while being asked questions by interviewer Sean Evans. As a fan, and in the spirit of the Hot Ones' tagline, "The show with hot questions, and even hotter wings," I've created some spicy data visualizations. continue reading

One of the best parts about being a scientist is spending time conversing with other scientists. When I was a graduate student studying in an Experimental and Research Psychology master's program, I lived with other psychology graduate student researchers. During our free time, which admittedly could be pretty limited, we often relaxed while playing cards or board games. Settlers of Catan, in particular, was a favorite. Despite this occurring during our relaxation hours, our researcher minds wouldn't always turn off when we closed our books or laptops. continue reading
